screen printing
... it all starts with an idea brought to us by our customers, many times with only a copy of their own artwork or drawing.  Their ideas are then taken to our graphics department who make a computer generated version of that idea and forward back to the customer for final approval ... then the fun begins.

  • producing the art ... each color of the design will have its own screen.  Before the production artist can take the design to the screen department they must print each color on a film positive to transfer the image to its own screen.
  • preparing the screens ... the screens are coated with photosensitive emulsion.  The screen is then placed into a unit that exposes it to ultraviolet light.  This light burns the design into the screen ... we then remove the excess emulsion from the screen with a high pressure water rinse.
  • printing the shirt ... by transferring ink through the screen onto the shirt.   The shirt is placed on the platen making sure that it is even and sitting straight then the operator pulls ink across it with a rubber printing squeegee.   The shirt is removed and placed under a special drying unit, job completed.

Here's a recent example of a High School Student bringing us a copying of her pencil drawing.

We converted their hand drawn design into "vectored art" which allows us the ability to reduce or enlarge the size of their drawing per the customer's request, produce the artwork, transfer to a coated screen and then finally transfer the image to the garment of her choice. Needless to say, the tennis team was very happy with the final result!

So, please remember, a t-shirt is not just a t-shirt for some.  It's a marker of identity, a reminder of a special time and a special place. Or, perhaps a connection to friends or family.   We don't just produce shirts we produce connections to what is special in our lives!

So, let's get started making memories.  PRO-IMAGE can handle any order you submit, multiple colors or only one ...large orders of three hundred items or more to small orders of  twenty or so, we're the right choice for you!
